History
The original Scout 80 (1961–1965) offered a simple, boxy body with a removable hardtop and optional four-wheel drive, aimed squarely at farm and light-duty work use.
The Scout 800 (1965–1971) added refinement and more engine options without sacrificing the original's fundamental simplicity.
The Scout II (1971–1980) grew larger with a more comfortable interior and a V8 option, competing directly against the Ford Bronco and Chevrolet Blazer for the growing recreational 4x4 market.
