1952 Ford Customline

1962 Ford Customline Sedan, AACA National Champion A couple of years ago the current owner purchased this AACA National Champion 52 Ford from a friend, who had purchased it from the 2nd owner. The first owner restored the car in the late 80's and took it to the AACA nationals in Hershey where it won as a National Champion in 1993. Apparently it then went home and wasn't driven much. The second owner bought the car about 15 years later and he then went through the car and presented the car again, this time in 2013, at the AACA Nationals where it again was presented a National Championship. (The plaques and paperwork come with the car) That second owner drove the car quite a bit, before it was sold to the third owner in the late 20teens. The current owner bought the car in 2024 and has hardly driven it and along with several other cars, has decided that it's better off in the hands of someone who will take it out and enjoy it. While it is no longer in the #1 condition it was in 2013, it is still in awesome shape. It has been repainted at least once in the original Glenmist Green and maintains it's original engine, which has been rebuilt and detailed to the Nth degree, along with the rest of the under hood compartment. All the proper decals in the proper locations, with the correct washer bottle, etc. The interior is in beautiful condition as well. The large bench seat was reupholstered in a dark green velevetine fabric and the door cards were done to contrast a bit with light green and dark vinyl panels, along with the dark green painted uppers. The headliner is also a dark green. All of this in near perfect condition. Pull the choke, turn the key and the flat head V8 fires right up and gives you that distinct Ford Flat Head sound .. There's no other engine that sounds that way. Shift the Fordomatic 2 speed transmission into D and away you go. This isn't a hot rod but the V8 does give ample acceleration and sounds good doing it. The car drives well, as well as a 50's era car would. Steering is non-power but tight and light when moving, the 4 wheel drums stop the car very well. All the electronics work, including the AM radio, which is a tube radio and takes a little time to warm up. Lights, high beams, blinkers, wipers and all the gauges operate as they're supposed to. The odometer shows about 80,000 miles and that is believed to be correct across all the owners, however, it is unknown how many miles have been added since the last restoration. The Glenmist Green does show a few years of wear and tear, with several touched up spots, most, one can not see even at 5 feet, one must really be searching for them. Chrome and trim are stunning. Under the car is just as clean as the rest of the car, with everything painted in either black or silver, the shocks are blue. Tires are Firestone Gum Dipped Deluxe Champions in 7.10x15 size and unknown age. Tread and carcass appear to be in great condition. Most Customlines seen for sale these days are not National Champions and simply aren't the condition of this one. With all the above taken into consideration, the asking price is $20,500.
