Willys' compact postwar passenger car — a lightweight, efficient sedan built alongside the Jeep in a bid to diversify beyond utility vehicles.

While best known for the Jeep, Willys-Overland also built a line of compact passenger cars in the early 1950s, aiming to capture buyers interested in a lighter, more fuel-efficient alternative to Detroit's increasingly large full-size cars. The Aero offered genuinely modern unibody construction and reasonable performance from a small six-cylinder engine, though it struggled to establish a lasting market position against better-funded competitors before Willys refocused entirely on Jeep production.

The first civilian Jeep — a direct descendant of the WWII military original that created the entire 4x4 utility vehicle category.

Adapting the proven military Jeep for civilian farm and utility use, Willys-Overland's CJ-2A ("Civilian Jeep") kept the wartime vehicle's rugged simplicity while adding practical touches like a tailgate, side-mounted spare, and a slightly larger fuel tank. It established the Jeep name as a standalone civilian product line — the direct ancestor of every Jeep built since, and the foundation of what would eventually become an entirely separate automotive brand.
