Dodge Coronet
The B-body backbone — parent to the Super Bee and the HEMI R/T that beat everything at the strip.
The Coronet was Dodge's B-body intermediate and the platform from which the Super Bee and Road Runner performance models were developed. The Coronet R/T (Road/Track) with the 440 Magnum or 426 HEMI was a full-on muscle car in a less-glamorous package than the Charger — which made it cheaper to insure and often faster on the street.
History
The third-generation Coronet (1965–67) introduced the B-body as a proper mid-size, available with the 426 HEMI from 1966. The 1968–70 Coronet featured revised styling and spawned the Super Bee as its budget-performance derivative. The Coronet R/T (Road/Track) package paired the 440 Magnum standard engine with performance suspension and dual exhausts, with the 426 HEMI available as a brutal upcharge.
By 1971, the Coronet name was fading as the Charger took over as Dodge's performance halo. The final Coronets (1973–76) were bland mid-size sedans with no performance pretense. The 1966–70 R/T and HEMI cars are the collector-grade examples; 500 and base trim cars are affordable alternatives.

B-body rust is expected everywhere
Lower quarters, trunk floor, floor pans, and lower A-pillars — all standard B-body problem areas. Budget for multiple panels on project cars.
R/T cars require the fender tag
The broadcast sheet attached to the firewall or fender confirms the factory R/T option and engine. Without it, all claims are unverified.
Coronet R/T is undervalued vs Charger
